Highly Commended in BE Competition »

Highcliffe Bowling Club was highly commended in the prestigious 2011 Bowls England Club of the Year Competition, sponsored by Drakes Pride. In its first year of entry Highcliffe finished third behind the winner: Ditton, Kent, which has been highly commended for the past two years, and runner-up: Clarence of Weston-Super-Mare.

Bowls England Chairman, Tony Allcock, said:

"All three finalists were once again of an exceptionally high standard but Ditton proved the old adage of 'if at first your don't succeed try, try again' still holds true."

Charity Donation »

The Bournemouth Branch of the MS Society was nominated as the 2011 President's Charity.  Mike Rice, President, invited Tim Warner, Chairman of the Bournemouth branch, and his wife, Shirley, to the end of season drive to receive the Club's donation of £451.
