Youth Bowling Afternoon»
Four teenagers aged fifteen and sixteen joined Highcliffe Bowling Club at the beginning of this season and have been following the English Bowls Coaching Scheme run by the Club’s own qualified Coaches. A new class of Club membership, the Student Bowler, has been created for bowlers aged fourteen to eighteen and in full time education.
Highcilffe is a vibrant and successful club and there are many bowling opportunities and social events for members of all ages. Nevertheless, it was decided to celebrate the end of school exams and the beginning of the summer holidays by organising a Youth Bowling Afternoon for our Student Bowlers, relatives of club members and some friends. During the afternoon the novice bowlers received free coaching while the Student Bowlers played their first trophy competition. Joe Herbert beat Amber Sutton and Victoria Chard in the three-way singles competition and received his trophy from the President, Mike Rice. Joe carried away a second prize for winning the Crazy Bowls and completed his hat trick by skipping his novice team to victory in a handicapped coached match.
New members are always welcome and qualified coaches can provide tuition as required.
The club is affiliated to: Bowls England; Bowls Hampshire; New Forest BA & WBA and Bournemouth and District BA & WBA.
